Recently, I was speaking to a friend, and she told me - she wasn't sure what it was that we did here. And I realized - we haven't done a very good job of explaining that. So I wanted to take an opportunity to explain the space, describe the audiences that we work with, and the services that we provide. Sometimes, it's easier to just lay it out, so you can see where you place in this space might be!
So let's talk about it! What is Sacred Health PHYSICALLY?
Sacred Health is a 2500(ish) sq ft building, with 5 offices and waiting area, a bathroom, a kitchenette, a movement studio and an adjoining classroom. We are located at 42nd and University, in the Uptown Shopping Center. We share space with Hyvee, Trixie's, Friedrich's, Zumi's, Campbell's Nutrition, and many more small and chain businesses. We have amazing property managers and building owners that we work with. Inside the offices, we currently have:
Hypnosis (including HypnoBirthing)
Somatic Yoga and Yoga Therapy
Doula services and Placenta Encapsulation Services
Workshops and Classes
Yoga and Movement
Educational Classes and Events
Mental Health coming soon
And so much more!
The goal is for you to see us as your one stop shop for your alternative wellness needs, with the understanding that many of us are nurses, or work in the healthcare field, and we like to collaborate with your providers to provide the most optimum care possible. We see Western Medicine and Alternative Modalities as complimentary to each other. What is your Vision and Mission Statement?
“To make the practice of holistic wellness an accessible and integrated part of everyday life.”
Provides a collaborative approach to wellness planning by incorporating internal and external resources to benefit our clients.
Collaborative relationships with local communities to provide outreach, education, screenings and wellness planning for those lacking the immediate access to similar services.
Utilizes a worldly approach to holistic lifestyle goals in order to round out the client experience with the most effective and efficient tools available.
Recommending products and services that represent our personally held beliefs that we are limited to one planet, one body, and one opportunity throughout our lives to carve out the best possible quality of life.
We feel very strongly about these. We don't want Wellness to feel overwhelming. And we feel that innately, we are all designed for Wellness.
So does that mean that you only work with people that are 'Well'? On the contrary. We absolutely want to work with people that are on a Wellness journey. But, our passion lies with:
Those that are struggling with balancing a Chronic Disorder or Chronic Pain condition. That could mean autoimmune, cancer, chronic disorders, fibromyalgia, disabilities, or any other long term health condition, or state of imbalance.
Pregnancy, Postpartum, and New Families. We have a particular passion for pregnancy, evidence based care, labor and delivery, postpartum, and the newborn period.
Those that have experienced Trauma, mental health complications and imbalances, and have histories of Adverse Childhood Experiences.
Underserved populations. We are always working on expanding our services, and this is one the we are still working on.
When you say work with people with Chronic Disorders or Pregnancy you mean...
What we mean is that we offer a bunch of services that will support them on their journey! For example, for those struggling with Chronic Disorders, we have a handy guide on different ways that we can assist with those in that situation. This includes things like:
Movement and Yoga Classes designed to work with those in Chronic Pain or movement limitations
Individualized Yoga Therapy for optimal body movement, alignment, positioning, and pain relief
Nutrition to optimize your body for wellness and balance
Ayurveda to identify current systemic imbalances and treatments and lifestyle adjustments to rebalance the system
Reiki for energy healing work, trauma healing, chakra balancing, and alignment.
Hypnosis for pain control, trauma, stop smoking, pre and post surgical preparation, etc.
Massage Therapy to manipulate the soft tissues of the body for optimal healing, pain relief, or stress relief.
Classes and workshops to provide educational opportunities to learn more about a wide variety of subjects curated to help broaden your different dimensions of wellness.
These services can be used once, or throughout your health journey. You can pick things that work for you, or just come for the yoga classes. Nothing is required, but everything is available. Work with Sabbath, our Registered Nurse to determine the things that might work best for you! Or fill out our referral form to inquire about multiple services.
We can dive into Pregnancy and Postpartum, but I'll save that for another blog post.
The dream with Sacred Health was that you could come to one place, that chose specifically to specialize in chronic disorders, trauma, pregnancy & postpartum, and underserved populations, and find all your alternative needs under one roof. We hope that we can collaborate with your medical providers to optimize your care with us and your care with them. And we hope to make our services accessible, obtainable, and relatable to the needs of people dealing with these issues. I hope this gives you a better understanding of what Sacred Health is trying to do, one client at a time. Some of the ways that we try to network within the space:
Gift Cards that can be used with any of our providers
Referrals to other providers that might be of assistance
External Referrals to outside providers that align with our mission, vision, and style of care.
Regular Collaboration with each other for training, education and a better sense of understanding.
As always, please contact us with questions! We'd love to keep you in the loop on what's happening, and how we are growing, expanding, and working on ways to better serve you. Thanks for being in the Sacred Health Family!
Do you want to join our email list? We don't send out a ton, we promise not to inundate you! We'll just keep you posted on groovy stuff.
