Kirby Nelson is a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner serving adult patients experiencing mental health symptoms impacting their daily functioning. Kirby believes in a holistic, patient centered approach to psychiatric care and utilizes evidence-based pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment modalities. She has certification in Perinatal Mental Health, PMH-C, which means that Kirby is specifically trained to work with and provide services to Pregnant and Postpartum populations, including medication management as needed or desired.
Kirby completed her doctoral degree through the University of Minnesota School of Nursing in 2015 and has provided mental health care in primary care clinics and traditional mental health settings in Oregon, Iowa, and Minnesota.
Outside of clinical practice, Kirby enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She finds contentment when biking on her cargo bike with kids in tow, exploring natural spaces, doing yoga, and drinking coffee while reading a good book.
